In 1951, Filmgoers at a Bradford cinema have their evening's entertainment rudely interrupted after the owner agrees to project a message for a member of the audience onto the big screen. The person in question was the highly rated Bradford City player Jack Connor, and the message was for him to come immediately to the theatre lobby. There and then, the player agreed terms with club officials and was soon on his way to Stockport County for 2,500 pounds.
