The three fastest substitutions in World Cup history have all been Italian players. In 1978, Mauro Bellugi was substituted after six minuted of Italy against Argentina. Four years later, Francesco Graziani was replaced after seven minuted of the World Cup final, but the fastest ever substitution at a World Cup came in 1998 when Alessandro Nesta went off after just four minutes of Italy against Austria.
